The Toronto Metropolitan University Thrill Design Competition took place in November of 2022 in Orlando, Florida. TxTPED's team participated in challenges related to mechanical design, safety and accessibility, interactive attractions, and several attractions design challenges involving NoLimits models, and complex story, technology, and environmental constraints. TxTPED's designs were recognized with distinction for creative skill and integration, communication, feasibility, and human centered design. |
- TxTPED's Spring 2022 escape room, Daedalus: The Lost Wings was awarded Best in Show at the themed attraction student showcase. This is a competition where young professionals from all over the US enter their themed entertainment designs to be judged by industry professionals. - The escape room also won Best in Class - Guest Narrative, Best in Class - Operations / Project Management / Budgeting, and a Special Achievement in Feasibility, as well as honorable mentions for storytelling, placemaking, and technology. Member of TxTPED placed second out of over 50 teams in Cornell Theme Park Engineering Group's theme park design competition. The team created a themed land consisting of an original storyline, an interactive "game" around the land, two innovative attractions, and a master layout of the land (which won a special award for best master plan).
